Sports fans are innately fanatical, but loyal followers of the Los Angeles Lakers take their passion to new heights. Perform well, and Lakers fans will make you the toast of Tinsel Town. Look no further than their shooting guard, Austin Reaves.

Reaves flew in under the radar as an undrafted free agent and quickly became an important part of an NBA championship-contending team. After two professional seasons, Reaves has earned a new contract and a signature sneaker line.

Thanks to Reaves' popularity among Lakers fans, the Chinese brand Rigorer is gaining a foothold in the NBA and the global sneaker market. Even the most diehard sneakerheads in North America had not heard of Rigorer before Reaves came along, and now his signature sneakers are bucking market trends.

Reaves' first signature sneaker - the Rigorer AR1 "Ice Cream" - sold out its limited run of 2,000 pairs on KICKS CREW within five minutes in August. That instant sell-out was matched again by the platform's recent shock drop from Reaves' signature line - the Rigorer AR1 "Stars & Stripes," limited to 1,000 pairs.

Despite the current general resale market slowdown, the AR1 "Ice Cream" and "Stars & Stripes" are all trading at above retail on secondary marketplaces. On sites like eBay, pairs have sold for as much as $500-$600 in adult sizes.

If resale prices for the Rigorer AR1 "Stars & Stripes" follow the "Ice Cream" colorway's trajectory, sales could reach $700-$800, placing it firmly in the category of 2023's strongest-performing sneaker on the secondary market.

For Reaves, an unassuming star with a rural demeanor, the Rigorer AR1 possesses a formula other contemporary sneaker releases are missing - blending scarcity, stylistic appeal, and the rising stardom of the Lakers' breakout guard.

By creating a bridge between overseas brands like Rigorer and the United States sneaker market, KICKS CREW has helped catalyze the immense aftermarket interest for Reaves' signature shoes.

KICKS CREW has also organized an exclusive early release of the AR1 “Showtime” colorway on September 16-17 at Sneaker Con LA with the presence of Austin Reaves himself before a global release date that has yet to be officially announced.
