Caitlin Clark Has a Sneaker Idea for Taylor Swift

Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark continues to make moves in the footwear industry. This week, Clark became the first female cover athlete for the legendary sneaker magazine SLAM. In addition to gracing the cover, Clark sat down for an interview where she discussed the Nike Caitlin 1 at length.

Clark's first signature Nike basketball shoe does not launch until October 1, but that has not stopped the WNBA All-Star from debuting more than ten colorways. In fact, she has a few colorways of the Nike Caitlin 1 that she thinks Taylor Swift might want to wear.

When asked who she wanted to see wear her sneakers or get their own colorway, Clark had several big ideas. "Well, Travis Scott tried on the all-black pair," said Clark. "Obviously, we saw that in my Instagram post. I wouldn't mind seeing Taylor Swift in a couple versions that I think she would probably like."

"Other than that, I honestly think it's really cool just seeing other WNBA players or other NBA players wear your shoe," Clark added. "I think that's really special. So, I'll definitely be trying to get as many college hoopers, NBA hoopers, WNBA hoopers."

This is not the first time Clark has shown love to Swift with her sneakers. Before debuting the Nike Caitlin 1, one of her very last pairs of Nike Kobe 6 Protro player-exclusive colorways celebrated Swift's Eras Tour. Unfortunately, the shoes never hit shelves. But we can always wish for a Clark x Swift sneaker collaboration.

Clark officially unveiled the Nike Caitlin 1 earlier this summer and has already put together a highlight reel in the unreleased shoes. The "Racer Blue" colorway launches on October 1 and will be followed by several releases, including the Yellow Zest, Purple, Hot Punch, and an all-black Travis Scott collaboration.

Other exciting colorways we have seen are the Iowa, Grinch, Tunnel Walk, White Label, All-Star, and Mint, just to name a few. But the incredible colorways are just part of what's driving the hype behind the shoe. The Nike Caitlin 1 introduces new performance technology.
