Sabrina Ionescu & Nike Take Over Yankees-Mets Game

In this story:
The summer of Sabrina Ionescu rolls on. The New York Liberty guard has been on fire throughout the WNBA season and carried that hot streak into All-Star Weekend, where she made history in the 3-point contest.
Given Ionescu's clout in the sports world and the Big Apple, it is only fitting that she threw out the ceremonial first pitch in the MLB Subway Series. Before the New York Yankees handled the New York Mets 3-1, Ionescu made a sneaker statement with the help of Nike.
Ionescu threw an absolute seed while wearing the Nike Terminator Low in the 'NY vs. NY' colorway. The red and cream colorway commemorates the city's legendary streetball history. Details on the old-school hoop shoe include "NY vs. NY" on the tongues and insoles, with "NY" on the heels.

Fans can purchase the Nike Terminator Low 'NY vs. NY' for $130 in adult sizes when they release on Friday, July 28, at 10:00 a.m. EST on the Nike website. The 'NY vs. NY' colorway is a popular concept with Nike and has been used on multiple models. But the execution of this rollout has never been better.
As if nailing the timing of the Terminator rollout wasn't enough, Ionescu and Nike also used the platform to highlight her first signature sneaker. Yankees manager Aaron Boone posed with the Nike Sabrina 1, while shortstop Gleyber Torres wore the unreleased basketball shoes in the dugout.
The Nike Sabrina 1 is scheduled to release on Thursday, August 3, for $125 in adult sizes. The shoes are not yet on the Nike website, but we keep our loyal readers informed of updates on this story. Stay locked into FanNation Kicks for all your sneaker news.
