Jake Lifgren scores game-high 17 points to lead the Coyotes
PHOENIX - Jake Lifgren scored a game-high 17 to lead Centennial over Gilbert 46-39 on Tuesday night to win the AIA Class 5A boys basketball championship at the Arizona Veteran's Memorial Coliseum.
The Coyotes (26-5) outscored Gilbert 19-6 in the final period.
Gabe Galbreath contributed 14 points in the victory while teammate Emery Young had 11 points and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds.
Reed Shuey led Gilbert (26-4) with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
