NORCO– When Fairmont Prep took on West Ranch in an exhibition game at the Hope Scholastic Showcase in October, West Ranch rolled to a 44-31 win that was never in question. But the Huskies got revenge on Saturday at the Norco Extravaganza with a 36-34 victory.

Andrea Javier hit four threes to finish with 14 points for Fairmont, and Siyanda Salter added 12 points. The Huskies trailed by five points with a couple minutes left, and had been stuck at 29 points for much of the fourth quarter in what had been a quiet defensive battle up to that point. But they finished the game on a 7-0 run in the final 1:42 to win 36-34 in dramatic fashion, consisting of a Javier-to-Salter bucket off a pick-and-roll, a cold-blooded deep three by Javier to tie the game, and a game-winning put-back by Salter with under 10 seconds left. Javier secured the win by stealing the ensuing inbound pass.

Nadia Bernard led all scorers with 16 points for West Ranch on a bevy of mid-range jumpers. Here's our highlight video from the game:
