Very little movement this week in the rankings from week 8 in most of the state. We moved out Orange Lutheran after two forfeit losses knocked the Lancers to 2-6 on the season.

The new team in the rankings is Sac-Joaquin Section power Manteca, which has outscored opponenets 377-93.

The only other significant move was replacing Santa Margarita at No. 4 with previous No. 2 Mission Viejo. All these teams, including No. 1 St. John Bosco, No. 2 Sierra Canyon and No. 3 Corona Centennial will work it all out in the CIF Southern Section Open Division playoffs in a couple of weeks.

And wouldn't it be something, but surely not inconceivable, to have No. 7 Mater Dei rise up and beat all in the playoffs.
