Breaking: Frank Scott named new head football coach at Leesburg (Florida)

Well it did not take too long for Frank Scott to know where he was heading after stepping down as the head football coach at Eustis High School.

On Friday night, Leesburg announced Scott as the Yellow Jackets’ new head coach. Scott replaces Steven Moffett, who left after one season to become the co-head coach at The First Academy in Orlando.

Exclusive: Leesburg head football coach Steven Moffett steps down

Moffett, in his first year as a high school football head coach, transformed the Leesburg Yellow Jackets from a 2-8 squad in 2022 into a 10-2 team which reached the second round of the FHSAA 3S state playoffs.

Scott led Eustis from 2020-2023, compiling an overall record of 23-17 and qualifying for the playoffs three of his four seasons guiding the Panthers.

Eustis was coming off a solid 2023 season, in which Scott led the Panthers to a 7-4 record and reaching the Class 2S postseason. The Panthers ended up falling to Cocoa 54-7 in the region quarterfinal round.
