Kansas City Royals leftfielder Alex Gordon sent Game 1 of the World Series into extra innings with a solo shot in the bottom of the ninth inning off Mets closer Jeurys Familia.

With one out and the score 4–3 Mets, Gordon took a 1–1 sinker into deep centerfield to tie the game at 4. According to Statcast, the ball left his bat at 108 mph, and traveled 438 feet.

Familia earned his first blown save since July 30, and allowed his first home run on the road since July 19.
