Is Anthony Davis Playing Tonight? (Injury Update, Betting Impact for Suns vs. Mavericks)

UPDATE: Anthony Davis is OUT on Wednesday.
MacMahon: Anthony Davis (calf) ruled out Wednesday.

Dallas Mavericks big man Anthony Davis is listed as questionable for Wednesday night's matchup with the Phoenix Suns due to a calf injury.
Davis has not played in each of the Mavericks' last six games, as he went down in the first quarter of the team's win over the Indiana Pacers back on Oct. 29. The star forward was listed as questionable on Monday against the Milwaukee Bucks, but he ended up being held out of that game.

So, Davis appears to once again be a true game-time decision for Jason Kidd and the Mavs on Wednesday. In the six games that Davis has missed, the Mavericks have just a 1-5 record, beating only the Washington Wizards during that stretch.
Overall, Dallas is 3-8 this season and has one of the worst records in the Western Conference.
When he's been able to play, Davis has been effective for Dallas. The All-Star forward is averaging 20.8 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game while shooting 52.0 percent from the field. He's pulled down 10 or more boards in every game that he's completed this season.
With Davis' status up in the air, I'm looking elsewhere in the prop market for this matchup and narrowing in on rookie Cooper Flagg against the Suns.

Cooper Flagg OVER 6.5 Rebounds (+102)
It's been an up-and-down start to Flagg's rookie season, as the Mavs have asked him to handle a lot of the point guard duties with Kyrie Irving (ACL recovery) out of the lineup. Flagg has made some strides in recent games, and he's averaging 15.0 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game while shooting 42.4 percent from the field and 26.2 percent from 3.
If Davis sits, Flagg is a great prop target as a rebounder, but I like him either way in this matchup with Dereck Lively II (questionable) also on the injury report.
Flagg has seven or more rebounds in six of his 11 games this season, and he's averaging 11.6 rebound chances per game.
While Phoenix ranks in the top half of the league in rebounding percentage and opponent rebounds per game, Flagg has really come on in this department as of late, averaging 7.3 boards per game in November.
