Bearcats Guard A.J. McGinnis Entering Transfer Portal

The sophomore played 41 total minutes in 2021-22.

CINCINNATI — The Bearcats men's basketball team now has three guards in the transfer portal. Sophomore guard A.J. McGinnis announced plans to explore other school options on Tuesday.

McGinnis saw his playing time drop by ten minutes per game in 2021-22 and scored just 18 points all season compared to 169 points at UNC-Greensboro as a freshman.

Assuming senior guard David Dejulius returns, Wes Miller now has three open scholarship spots to work with in his assessment of the transfer portal. Cincinnati could use another scoring guard, a defensive wing, and an offensive-minded center.
