Report: Cincinnati Partners With Brandr to Expand NIL Opportunities

The partnership means good things for diehard UC fans.

CINCINNATI — Get ready Cincinnati fans—you'll soon be able to legally buy jerseys with your favorite player's name on them. According to the Cincinnati Business Courier, UC entered into a branding agreement with Florida-based marketing firm, Brandr Group, to create more chances for its athletes to capitalize on NIL opportunities.

Athletes from 18 sports, including football, can voluntarily sign up for the program and will then go through the process to have their name and image tied in with UC logos and apparel.

“Group licensing with the leader in this space will open up plenty of new avenues for our Bearcats to earn revenue, while also providing our fans with even more ways to purchase officially-licensed merchandise,” UC athletic director John Cunningham explained. “This is further proof of our commitment to having UC Athletics be a leader in NIL for student-athletes.”

There is no set date for when athlete-associated apparel starts hitting shelves but look for the process to pick up steam quickly as both school and athlete try to navigate these uncharted waters.
