2022 NFL Combine Check-In: Myjai Sanders Guts Through Workout; Darrian Beavers Paces all LBs in Three-Cone Drill

CINCINNATI — Linebackers and defensive linemen took center stage on Saturday at the 2022 NFL Combine. That meant athletic testing from former Bearcats defensive end Myjai Sanders and linebacker Darrian Beavers.
Sanders showed off the athletic explosion that many expected to see. He posted the ninth-best 40-yard dash time among edge rushers and wowed with a 10-foot broad jump. His relative athletic score ranks 135th out of 1,389 edge prospects since 1987.
Myjai Sanders is a DE prospect in the 2022 draft class. He scored an unofficial 9.04 RAS at the COmbine out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 135 out of 1389 DE from 1987 to 2022. https://t.co/bbVFc3pcOi #RAS via @Mathbomb pic.twitter.com/2qVDj8oVK1

A bit better on the 2nd 40-yard dash run for two more EDGEs:

He did all of this with a handicap as well. Ian Rapoport reported that Sanders is dealing with a stomach bug, but still wanted to test. That was a big contributing factor in his striking weight difference since last month's Senior Bowl. He was 14 pounds heavier down in Mobile, Alabama.
Sanders could squeeze a little more out of these numbers at the Bearcats' upcoming Pro Day on March 24.
Myjai Sanders was the most respected pass rusher based on the responses I got from offensive tackles in Indianapolis.

Beavers was more selective with his workouts on Saturday but did a decent job in the drills he participated in. He posted a 36.5 inch vertical (eighth among LBs), and a 10-foot-5 broad jump (ninth). He wrapped up with the best three-cone drill of any linebacker (6.91 seconds).
The three-cone is arguably the most important agility drill at the event. Beavers did not qualify for an RAS because he skipped the bench press, 40-yard dash, and shuttle drill.
The 2022 NFL Combine wraps up on Sunday, with the secondary players closing things out at Lucas Oil Stadium.
