Cincinnati Among Seven Teams Most Likely to Regress in 2022 College Football Season

Luke Fickell is looking to reload and keep up a high standard at UC.

CINCINNATI — ESPN's Bill Connelly unveiled which teams are returning the most production for the 2022 college football season, and Cincinnati is unsurprisingly losing a lot of its own heading into next season.

UC is ranked 93rd in returning production and is one of the seven teams most likely to regress in 2022.

"All four of last year's CFP participants rank 65th or worse in returning production, and two are in the 90s," Connelly wrote. "That's not uncommon, but it certainly spells out the experience levels typically required to make a big run. The Bearcats aren't starting over, but Luke Fickell obviously has quite a few big names to replace."

Reloading is a trend for the elite teams in college football, and that's exactly what UC is trying to do. They start the journey towards a third-straight AAC title on Sept. 3 at Arkansas.
