Ahmad 'Sauce' Gardner Explains Desire to Finish UC Degree: 'I'm a Huge Inspiration to The Youth'

Gardner graduated this past Friday.

CINCINNATI — UC football legend Ahmad "Sauce" Gardner graduated from Cincinnati with a degree in interdisciplinary studies this past weekend.

Before the big day, he sat down with NBC's Maria Taylor to discuss why it meant so much to finish what he started at UC.

"I'm a huge inspiration to the youth," Gardner said. "Everybody's parents always stress to them how they gotta graduate, keep school first. Which is true. So I feel like I gotta be a part of that as well and just show them and be an example like Sauce made plays on the field, but he still made sure that he graduated."

Gardner now turns his sights to helping the New York Jets win the AFC East in his second NFL season.
