Let It Fly Takeaways: Episode Four

The season is fast approaching for UC football.

CINCINNATI — Let It Fly rolled on this week with episode four winding things down at Camp Higher Ground as another school year quickly approaches.

Check out some takeaways following the latest showing from the Bearcats' social media team.

Higher Ground Hijinks

The UC football team has been back on campus for a little over a week, but not before they had a few more interesting events at Higher Ground. Top billing goes to the WWE-esque wrestling match that the strength staff put together at the conference center.

Multiple staffers wrestled in their best wrestling outfits in front of the team with Luke Fickell & company in the front row. Former UC linebacker Ryan Royer helped hype up the event. Piledrivers galore brought out plenty of roars from the team.

The grind of camp can get monotonous, but the program does a nice job sprinkling in team-building events from going to the movies as a team on Fickell's birthday, to this wrestling event.

Campus Temperature

Veteran secondary members Arquon Bush and Ja'von Hicks made the rounds around UC's campus upon their return from fall camp and it's clear that Nippert Stadium will be busy again over the next few months.

The duo even recruited a new fan from across the pond.

"I'm from England," The fan said. "So (football) is not very big there."

"You coming to the game," Bush responded. "You gonna come check it out?"

"Yeah, yeah," The fan said as Bush told him he played corner. "Corner? I have no idea what that means."

Bush made sure he knew it involved defense, but the rest he may just have to experience himself at a game. It's definitely the hottest ticket this side of Paycor Stadium. Nippert Stadium is sold out of regular and student season tickets for the first time in school history.

Mixing in all the external factors and judging from these man-on-the-street interactions, things are going to get loud in the heart of UC's campus very soon.

Cincinnati plays six games at home and also has the Battle for the Victory Bell against Miami (OH) at Paycor Stadium on Sept. 17.

Speed Test

Cincinnati isn't lacking speed in its receiving unit given that two members (Tyler Scott and Tre Tucker) have posted 4.29 40-yard dash times in their UC careers. The big question though is who takes top billing as the King of Speed.

Drew Donley, Scott, and Tucker all got love from their teammates, but the final part of that trio edged out the others. Tucker was a highly-recruited track star as a high schooler in Akron and the speed has only blossomed more in Clifton.

"I'm going to say Tre (Tucker) humbly," Hicks said about the debate. "But selfishly I'm going to see me."

"Tre Tucker," Bush said. "Tre Tucker, Tre Tucker."

"Chili Pepper Tre Tucker," Ben Bryant answered with no explanation.

Coach Fickell jumped in to give a definitive answer. "Fastest guy on the team is Tre Tucker," Fickell said.

He gave some hope for wide receiver Drew Donley or Tyler Scott in a length-of-the-field race, but he still leaned towards Tucker.

The man himself didn't even answer verbally, Tucker just pointed at himself up and down.Speed so fast words can't catch it.

Tucker is primed for a huge season as arguably Cincinnati's top receiving threat. Check out the full episode below.
