Four-Star 2024 Defensive Lineman Kavion Henderson Places UC in Top-Five Schools

The Alabama-product Flashes impressive strength snap-to-snap.

CINCINNATI — One of the best defensive line recruits in the country put UC in his top-five schools over the past week. Leeds (Alabama) four-star DL Kavion Henderson still has UC on his radar.

The top-five list consists of Arkansas, Auburn, Cincinnati, Georgia, and Oklahoma. Henderson cut it down from a top 10 at the end of June. UC is in the group, but On3 doesn't think they have a chance of landing Henderson. The site doesn't have UC listed with a percentage that Henderson signs there, while Auburn (26.2%) and Georgia (22.9%) lead the race.

According to On3 consensus, Henderson is the No. 194 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, and the 14th-ranked defensive lineman. ESPN has the talent ranked 37th nationally and 22nd among defensive linemen.

At 6-foot-3, 233 pounds, Henderson is a game-wrecker along the line of scrimmage. He's listed as a D-lineman but he primarily lines up as a defensive end. His power is evident every single play and he didn't have one clip where blockers kept hold of him for more than three seconds.

There aren't many high schoolers that can deal with his blend of speed (4.5-second 40-yard dash) and power snap-to-snap. Henderson wears down his opponents and never quits on a play.

Although, power can be a blessing and curse. The junior could use a few more pass rush techniques in his arsenal besides the swim move. That should all come with more experience, the baseline traits are there and then some with Henderson. Check out his highlights here.
