CINCINNATI — The Athletic unveiled its picks for Group of Five conference champions and the outlet is not bullish on the Bearcats winning a third-straight AAC Championship.

Voters picked Houston (+225 odds to win) over Cincinnati (+200) 8-2 in an anonymous vote.

"Cincinnati had five players taken in the top 100 of the NFL Draft," the article explained. "Including Sauce Gardner, the fourth overall, and quarterback Desmond Ridder. That’s a lot to replace and a big reason why Houston got so much respect from our group."

Voters don't expect another trophy but they still think UC will eclipse its win total of nine victories.

Seven votes for over (-140) snuffed out three votes for under (+115). Interestingly, transfer linebacker Ivan Pace Jr. was the only UC player a voter picked as a possible Heisman contender for UC.
