UC Tight End Leonard Taylor Returning in 2022

CINCINNATI — The Bearcats football team got a double dose of good news on Monday. Defensive lineman Jabari Taylor announced he is staying for another year, and so did tight end Leonard Taylor.

The latter is one of the leading members of a fully-stocked Bearcat tight end room and figures to be the full-time starter next season. He held that role in 12 games this year while posting career-highs in receiving yards (274) and touchdowns (4). Among Bearcats tight ends, He trailed only Josh Whyle in both marks.

Taylor performed his best in Cincinnati's biggest game of the season—posting four catches for 70 yards and a touchdown against Notre Dame. UC is losing a good bit of talent in what many expect to be the largest NFL Draft class in school history, but the swing prospects are cashing in their extra year of eligibility thus far.
