FSU football losing Desir twins to college football transfer portal

With only seven wins over the last two seasons, there hasn't been much for Florida State fans to cling to besides the sporadic flashes of young players across the roster.

Coming out of the 2025 season, the Seminoles appeared to find a few building blocks on defense.

True freshmen defensive linemen and twins, Mandrell and Darryll Desir, exceeded expectations in their first year with the program. Now, they're both moving on from Tallahassee.

Desir Twins Transferring From Florida State

On Monday, the Desir twins announced their plans to transfer from Florida State, per On3's Hayes Fawcett.

This is a major loss for the Seminoles. The program is going to need to find a handful experienced defenders in the portal.

Last season, Mandrell Desir appeared in all 12 games and made two starts, totaling 30 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, one pass deflection, and one forced fumble. He was named a true freshman All-American by On3 and 247Sports, leading Florida State in sacks.

Darryll Desir chipped in 23 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and one sacks in 12 appearances.

Both Desir twins will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
