Bergin Kysar, a skilled defensive lineman from Edmond Santa Fe (OK), has committed to OU.

Kysar, who is believed to be joining the team as a walk-on, is a very talented player who holds a handful of scholarship offers. Rated a 3-star recruit, the 6-foot-4, 245-pound edge holds offer from Oklahoma State, Tulsa and UNLV, among others.

Kysar also plays offense and special teams and already has hit impressive totals in the weight room.

For the Sooners to pick up such a high level player as a walk-on, it is a huge victory on the recruiting trail for Oklahoma. In Norman, walk-on players have been shown that they will be given the opportunity to compete for playing time, even early in their careers.

Kysar has been on OU's campus multiple times this summer, first for the Brent Venables Elite Camp in June and again over the weekend for the Sooners' "Party at the Palace" recruiting event.

Kysar is also teammates with Oklahoma offensive line target Josh Aisosa at Santa Fe, potentially giving Brent Venables and company the upper hand in the 3-star offensive lineman's decision, which is set for Aug. 14.

The Santa Fe standout is OU's third prefered walk-on commit in the 2024 class, joining Southlake Carroll (TX) wide receiver Jacob Jordan and Casady (OK) defensive lineman Ace Hodges. All three of the PWO commitments in the Sooners' 2024 class attended and performed well at the Brent Venables Elite Camp.

Kysar joins Hodges, Wyatt Gilmore and Jayden Jackson in Oklahoma's upcoming d-line class, creating a solid group that could see a few big names added to the mix in the coming months.
