Kam Pringle's Unique Skillset & How It Translates

Offensive tackle Kam Pringle checks a lot of boxes and is what every SEC coach is looking for. South Carolina is in heavy pursuit for the coveted offensive lineman.

Cultivating consistent line play is difficult, especially for college programs. Each season is a new story for big men, and units can follow dominant years with disappointing output.

South Carolina has committed to recruiting the trenches on both sides. Head coach Shane Beamer went after several priority linemen in 2023, and it seems he will follow that recipe in the 2024 class.

Offensive tackle Kam Pringle is a name to know. Pringle resides in Dorchester, South Carolina. He is narrowing down his recruitment and appears interested in what is happening in Columbia.

The coaching staff has made no secret of their pursuit. Pringle has been on campus several times, and current commits make a big deal about his presence. Major programs are involved here, and Pringle has various fans across college coaching staffs.

Some consider him the best tackle in the country. Pringle's unique and refreshing approach to the position could lend itself to a starting role somewhere down the line, with the potential for much more.

Evaluating offensive linemen is difficult for reasons mentioned above. The best indicator of a high schooler's future is to evaluate the person and hope the coaching irons out the rest.

Pringle has a nasty streak required to play the position. He's a grueling run blocker, slamming his hands at the point of attack. The push he can generate off his first few steps is impressive, as he routinely makes his way to the second level.

He's a refined run blocker that could come in and remain competitive with 5-techniques in the SEC. Some pass sets could be improved, as Pringle has a tendency to play stiff in his lower body.

College coaching and attention should smooth some of those things out, but his initial baseline sets him far apart. Pringle measures in at 6-7 and 305 lbs., and with that attitude, nothing should slow him down.
