Last week, the 2023 women's soccer season got underway. The TCU Horned Frogs (1-1-0) hosted SMU in the season's opening match, winning 1-0. Three days later, the Frogs lost to then No. 6 Florida State, 2-0

In the Week 1 United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll, released earlier this week, TCU dropped seven spots and is now ranked No. 16, after being ranked No. 9 in the preseason poll.

UCLA remains at the top spot. Florida State, in part due to their win over TCU on the road, jumped up to No. 2. North Carolina, Duke, and Virginia round out the top five.

Three other Big 12 teams remain in the Top 25. Texas (2-0-0), jumped up from No. 15 to No. 9. BYU (2-0-0) jumped up two spots to No. 11. And UCF (1-0-0) also moved up two spots to No. 22. West Virginia is also the first time in the "receiving votes" section.
