UFC Quote: Ray Longo Obliterates Colby Covington In Hilarious Rant: "He's A F****** Moron"
Renowned MMA coach Ray Longo did not hold back during a scathing rant on Colby Covington.
Covington has drawn the ire of many throughout the years, but the general consensus is that he went too far with his pre-fight antics for UFC 296. Ahead of the welterweight title fight with Leon Edwards, Covington brought up "Rocky's" late father. "Chaos" vowed to drag Edwards to hell, and then he said that's where he can be with his father. As one would imagine, this enraged Edwards, who threw a bottle at Covington.
Ultimately, Edwards defeated Covington via unanimous decision to retain the UFC welterweight gold. Covington has been widely panned for his performance in the fight. He did not have that constant forward pressure that he's been known for, and UFC CEO Dana White believes "Chaos" waited too long to get back inside the Octagon.
During an episode of the "Anik & Florian Podcast," Ray Longo had some choice words for Colby Covington for crossing the line with not just MMA fighters, but even UFC play-by-play ace Jon Anik.
"I got absolutely no use for the guy at all," Longo said. "I just don't. Ever since he threatened you [speaking to Jon Anik], he knows where you live, he can go f*** himself. Couldn't give a s*** about that guy. What he did with Leon Edwards, I think is atrocious. You know, there's promoting a fight and then there's being a total f****** misfit in life, and that the way I see it with that guy."
Longo then turned his attention to the controversial comments Covington made about Leon's late father.
"First off, Leon Edwards with his father, I mean that was heartbreaking," Longo said. "Leon's a sweetheart of a guy. I really like Leon Edwards a lot, man. To see that, I'm tearing up as he's doing that, and it's anger towards Colby. That's what it does to me."
Podcast hosts Anik and Kenny Florian couldn't contain their laughter when Longo then began to poke fun at Colby for what he thinks is pandering to former POTUS Donald Trump.
"I think he cost Trump the election, how's that? 'Mr. President is here to watch me. Who do you got? The queen of England?' I mean, this motherf***** called somebody a dope? I'd love to see this guy's college transcripts. He's a f****** moron."
