Photos: La Costa Canyon uses seven-run eighth inning to defeat Granite Hills for San Diego Section Open Division championship

The Mavericks scored seven runs on five hits during the eighth inning on Friday night.

LA JOLLA, Calif. -- After trailing 3-0 one inning into Friday's Open Division Championship game, La Costa Canyon chipped away at Granite Hills and tied the game at three in the seventh inning. The Mavericks' offense exploded in the eighth inning with seven runs on their way to a 10-3 victory over the top-seeded Eagles.
