Grossmont's River Diaz De Leon voted top breakout performer in San Diego Section high school baseball

Last week, we asked San Diego Section high school baseball fans to vote for the top breakout performer from the 2022 season. There were 15 different candidates from schools all across the Section included in the poll.

Grossmont junior outfielder River Diaz De Leon won the poll with over 13,000 votes. In his first varsity season with the Foothillers, Diaz De Leon hit .309 with nine doubles and eight home runs. He led Grossmont with 28 runs batted in and had an on-base percentage of .393.
