The regular season in the San Diego Section has finished and the playoffs are here.
La Costa Canyon, who opened the season as the section's top team, holds the top spot as the postseason gets underway this week. The Mavericks are the top seed as they eye their second consecutive San Diego Section Open Division championship.

1. La Costa Canyon (20-6)
The Mavericks captured the North County Coastal League despite losing their only game last week, 3-2 to San Marcos. They'll begin their hunt to repeat as Open Division champions as the top seed.

2. Eastlake (24-3)
Eastlake finished off the final week of the regular season with three wins, capturing the Mesa League by two games over Montgomery. They earned the three-seed in the double-elimination Open Division playoffs and will host Granite Hills on Wednesday.

3. Rancho Bernardo (19-7)
The Broncos are heating up as they head into playoffs on a five-game winning streak in which they've allowed eight total runs. They are the two-seed in the Open Division playoffs and will welcome a visit from La Jolla Country Day in Wednesday's first round.

4. Torrey Pines (18-7)
Torrey Pines dropped their final three games of the season, coming against La Costa Canyon and Rancho Bernardo. The Falcons are the four-seed in the Open Division playoffs and will take on Carlsbad for the fifth time this season, having won each of the first four games by one run.

5. Montgomery (20-4)
Montgomery had a 2-1 week, losing to Mesa League champion Eastlake 3-1. They had the head-to-head matchup against Cathedral Catholic, securing the top seed in the Division 2 playoffs. They'll await the winner of Tuesday's Santa Fe Christian-Del Norte game.

6. Cathedral Catholic (19-8)
Cathedral Catholic swept three games from rival St. Augustine in their Western League series, winning the final game 4-3 in 10 innings. They shared the league title with Patrick Henry. The Dons have a first-round bye in the Division 2 playoffs and will await the winner of Tuesday's game between Scripps Ranch and Classical Academy.

7. Carlsbad (19-9)
Carlsbad rebounded from a series loss by beating Poway twice last week to close out the regular season. They earned the five-seed in the Open Division playoffs and will take on league rival Torrey Pines for the fifth time this season.

8. La Jolla Country Day (19-9)
La Jolla Country Day finished out the regular season by winning 13 of 15 games to capture the Coastal League title and grab one of the coveted Open Division seeds. The Torreys are seeded seventh and will head to Rancho Bernardo on Wednesday.

9. Granite Hills (15-7)
Granite Hills won two league games in the final week of the regular season, splitting the Grossmont Hills title with Santana. They earned a trip to Eastlake as the six-seed in the Open Division playoffs.

10. Christian (19-9)
Christian walked off with a 5-4 win over Coronado in their final regular season game to grab the Eastern League title over the Islanders. They'll have a first-round bye as the four-seed in the Division 2 playoffs.
