It's been a tough start to 2014 for the Cubs. On Monday, they were shut out for all 10 innings of their season opener against Pittsburgh and lost on a Neil Walker walk-off home run. On Wednesday, the Cubs rallied off Pirates closer Jason Grilli in the ninth inning of game two, took a lead in the 12th on Anthony Rizzo's solo homer, but then blew that lead in the bottom of the frame and eventually lost in 16 innings. That game didn't end until almost 1 AM ET, and of course, Thursday's series finale had a scheduled 12:35 PM start. So you can understand if the guys on the team are a little bit drowsy and down in the dumps.
