Tuesday August 12th, 2014

The Chicago White Sox will activate Matt Lindstrom from the disabled list, the team announced Tuesday. The right-handed reliever hasn't pitched since May 20, due to a torn sheath in his left ankle.

Lindstrom has a 3.32 ERA, six saves and 11 strikeouts in 19 innings this season. For his career, the eight-year veteran has a 3.55 ERA.

Lindstrom was on rehab assignment at Class AAA Charlotte, where he appeared in five games. The White Sox optioned left-handed pitcher Eric Surkamp to clear a roster spot for Lindstrom.

Chicago is 56-63 and in fourth place in the AL Central.
