TNT commentator Charles Barkley badly missed the mark Thursday when he tried to pronounce the name of Raptors center Jonas Valanciunas.

Valanciunas was one of 18 players selected to the Rising Stars Challenge, and Barkley was attempting to assign the Lithuanian big man to a team managed by fellow commentator Grant Hill.

Barkley's pronunciation came out something like "JOE-nuss Vas-so-EE-noo-on-shawsh".

Although his six-syllable attempt at the surname was blatantly incorrect, Barkley also missed on Valanciunas's first name.

According to an NBA pronunciation guide published on Sportando.net, the correct pronunciation is: "YO-nahs  vah-lahn-CHEW-nahs".

Valanciunas, 21, is averaging 10.8 points and 8.7 rebounds in his second season for the Raptors.
