Basketball fans have been abuzz for years over how tall Kevin Durant really is.

The Nets forward has been listed at 6'9" throughout his career, although many people speculate he's 6'11" or taller. Two weeks ago, Stefan Brody of the New York Daily News reported the Nets recorded KD at 6'10" after the NBA asked teams to verify players' heights.

However, it seems Durant's height is fluctuating once again. According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, sources said the forward's height will be marked at 6'9 1/2" this season.

In 2016, Durant admitted to KNBR that he likes joking with people over his height.

"I was recorded at 6'10" and three-quarters with no shoes, so with my shoes on I'm 7-feet," Durant said. "I just like messin' with people. They just ask me so much...yeah, I just like messin' with people.

"For me, when I’m talking to women, I'm 7 feet. In basketball circles, I'm 6'9".

"I've always thought it was cool to say I'm a 6'9" small forward," he said. "Really, that's the prototypical size for a small forward. Anything taller than that, and they'll start saying, 'Ah, he's a power forward.'"

We may never know Durant's real height, and he seems to want to keep it that way.
