The NBA has suspended the season due to the coronavirus, and the league will use the hiatus to determine the next steps moving forward. The league was contemplating either suspending the season or playing games without fans after a conference call Wednesday, but when Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert tested positive for the virus the decision to suspend the season came swift. SI’s Robin Lundberg believes as sad as it is to see the season come to a halt, this may be the reality check on the severity of the situation at hand the sports world needs.
