NFL free agent quarterback Kevin Kolb was arrested at about 2:45 a.m. on Saturday in Texas for allegedly operating a boat while intoxicated, reports KGBT-TV

Kolb, 29, was released on a $3,000 bond later that day and charged with boating while intoxicated, also according to KGBT-TV

Kolb was most recently a member of the Buffalo Bills, but he never played a game for them after suffering a concussion in a preseason game in August 2013. He's also played for the Philadelphia Eagles and Arizona Cardinals. He threw eight touchdowns in six games for the Cardinals in 2012.

Kolb was released by the Bills in March after he failed a physical and remains a free agent. In February, Bills coach Doug Marrone had said he was unsure if Kolb planned to retire
