Despite skipping out on minicamp and the entire offseason program, Chiefs outside linebacker Justin Houston expects to be present for training camp, according to a tweet Tuesday night from NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.
The 25-year-old is entering the final year of his rookie deal but appears willing to participate in order to get a new contract in place. Houston, a two-time Pro-Bowler, has 21 sacks over his past 27 games.
The Chiefs went 11-5 and made the postseason, an improvement upon their 2-14 record in 2012.
Training camp opens Thursday.
While #Chiefs face a potential holdout with RB Jamaal Charles (as KCTV5 reported), LB Justin Houston will be at camp. He’d skipped minicamp— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) July 22, 2014
