NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Titans guard Andy Levitre says he hopes to start exercising Monday on a bicycle, with running a couple days away, as he recovers from appendix surgery.

Levitre had surgery Thursday, the day before Tennessee reported to training camp.

''In terms of contact, I still have to wait for the incisions to heal,'' Levitre said Sunday after practice in the locker room. ''I think it would be a maximum of two weeks. Just kind of depends how it goes from here.''

Levitre said he thought he was having a stomach cramp Tuesday night that only got worse as he tried to work out Wednesday at team headquarters preparing for training camp. Levitre was sent for tests and had just gotten home when doctors told him to return to the hospital that night for an inflamed appendix.

''It wasn't anything excessive. I wasn't doubling over in pain. I just thought it was kind of weird to have stomach pain for more than a few hours,'' he said.

Coach Ken Whisenhunt has joked Levitre had the worst excuse he'd ever heard of to escape the conditioning test.

With Levitre on the non-football injury list, the Titans have been using rookie Taylor Lewan at left guard. The 11th pick overall out of Michigan also has been taking snaps at both tackle spots through the first two days of camp.
