Geno Smith, Seahawks Spoil Russell Wilson’s Return to Seattle

The night didn’t go as planned for the new Denver signal caller as his former team escaped with a 17-16 victory.

Geno Smith put on a show for the 12’s throwing for 195 yards and two touchdowns. Russ did his best to try and work his magic throwing for 340 yards and touchdown, but two costly fumbles in the redzone by Javonte Williams and Melvin Gordon stifled two scoring opportunities.

Despite that, down by 1, Denver had a 4th and 5 and elected to attempt a 64-yard FG to win the game that ultimately fell short.
