Report: Manchester United's Wayne Rooney will miss significant time

Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney will miss about two months after suffering a knee ligament injury, according to the Daily Mirror

United manager Louis van Gaal announced the news after the team traveled to Denmark to play FC Midtjylland in a Europa League match on Thursday.

The striker has been the primary source of scoring for Manchester United recently, scoring seven goals in his last nine games. 

United currently sits fifth in the Premier League standings, 12 points behind leader Leicester City.

The club’s next Premier League match is against Arsenal on Feb. 28.
