Reds Make Contract Extension Offer to Brandon Phillips
The Cincinnati Reds have made a contract-extension offer to infielder Brandon Phillips, according to Cincinnati.com.
“I don’t know if they were completely happy . . . they didn’t agree to it,” Reds general manager Walt Jocketty told the site.
Phillips, 30, has been an All-Star for the Reds for the past two seasons. Last year in 150 games he hit .300/.353/.457 with 18 home runs and 82 RBI. Over the course of his 10-year career he has hit .272/.322/.434 with 130 home runs and 139 stolen bases.
