Will Middlebrooks injury: Red Sox third baseman hit by a pitch on right wrist

Saturday August 11th, 2012

Boston Red Sox third baseman Will Middlebrooks, arguably the brightest light in another disappointing season in Beantown, left Friday's game against the Cleveland Indians after being hit on the right wrist by a 96-mph Esmil Rogers fastball in the top of the ninth inning.

Middlebrooks was going to be X-rayed after the game, and from what manager Bobby Valentine told the media, the prognosis may not be good.
