The Oakland Raiders have struggled for years to sell tickets at the O.co Coliseum, so coming up next season the team will block of sections of the stadium to avoid broadcast blackouts, reports Comcast SportsNet Bay Area.

For the 2012 season, the O.co Coliseum had the second-lowest capacity of any NFL stadium, seating just 63,132 spectators. Only Chicago's Soldier Field had a lower seating capacity. Next season, the capacity at the Coliseum will be 53,200. The team has taken advantage of the 85 percent threshold and the upper deck of the stadium will continue to have a tarp on it, per league rules.

Some 4,850 Raiders season ticket holders are being relocated from the top of Mt. Davis to the upper deck on the west side of the stadium.

"Our hope, our desire is a new stadium at that site," Raiders CEO Amy Trask said, reiterating the team's desire to stay in Oakland. "This is the tool we're using this year to create that vibrant community of season ticket holders."
