Matt Hasselbeck wanted to use his No. 8 jersey when he signed with the Indianapolis Colts in March but reserve quarterback Chandler Harnish already had the number. Rather than switch to a different number, Hasselbeck proposed that they resort to a half-court basketball shot to settle the issue.

The veteran quarterback offered Harnish a deal: If the 24-year-old could make a half-court shot, Hasselbeck would give him $8,000, but would get the rights to No. 8. But if Harnish, who received all-conference basketball honors in high school, missed the shot, he would still get to keep the number but wouldn't receive the financial compensation, and Hasselbeck would wear No. 11 from his time with the Green Bay Packers.

As the footage below shows, Harnish will donate the $8,000 to a charity benefitting his high school in his hometown in Indiana. But he will have to find a new number for next season.
