The New York Jets, in need of quarterback help for their final preseason game, have signed former Packers quarterback Graham Harrell, according to reports.

Harrell immediately moved to No. 2 on the depth chart for New York's last preseason game, reports The New York Daily News' Manish Mehta. Matt Simms will start.

The Jets have yet to announce a starter for the regular season opener, but the team won't play Geno Smith or Mark Sanchez. Smith is coming off his first NFL start, in which he threw three interceptions. Sanchez injured his shoulder after Rex Ryan put him into the game in the fourth quarter - a move that has been widely criticized. Greg McElroy also will miss the game with a mild knee sprain.
