The Oakland Athletics placed outfielder Josh Reddick on the 15-day disabled list with a knee injury, the team announced Tuesday.

The move is retroactive to June 1, and the team also reinstated right hander Ryan Cook from the 15-day DL.

Reddick was injured in the sixth inning of last Saturday's 11-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels when he suffered a hyperextended right knee after colliding with the right field wall. He did not play in Sunday's victory over the Angels.

Reddick is hitting .214 with four home runs and 22 RBI for the Athletics this season, who hold a 4.5 game lead over the Angels in the American League West.
