West Brom beats 10-man Stoke 2-1 with late goal in EPL

BIRMINGHAM, England (AP) Jonny Evans scored in injury time for West Bromwich Albion to beat Stoke 2-1 and win a second straight match in the English Premier League on Saturday.

West Brom had gone five weeks without success, but two straight home wins have lifted it to 12th in the standings and a comfortable nine points above the relegation zone.

Stoke, seeking a third straight win, was celebrating an unexpected equalizer with nine minutes to go when Jonathan Walters headed in Joselu's cross. But they were frustrated two minutes later after midfielder Geoff Cameron was sent off for reacting to a challenge and pushing Claudio Yacob to the ground.

West Brom took advantage in the third minute of stoppage time, as Evans poked in Craig Gardner's corner.

The hosts deserved to score first, an hour in, when Stephane Sessegnon was played into a gap and scored his first goal for West Brom in 15 months.
