After 14 years in London, Tottenham's most recognizable face is moving on to a new adventure.

Striker Harry Kane has agreed to a four-year contract with Bayern Munich, the 11-time defending German champions announced in a release early Saturday morning.

"Welcome to Munich, Harry Kane! We’re very happy about this top-quality new arrival," team president Herbert Hainer said in a statement. "Harry Kane will not only strengthen FC Bayern, but also be a real asset to the entire Bundesliga."

Kane, 30, is the all-time leading scorer for both Tottenham and the English national team. He won the Golden Boot at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, scoring six goals in the tournament.

"I’m very happy to be a part of FC Bayern now. Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world, and I’ve always said that I want to compete and prove myself at the highest level during my career," Kane said in a statement.

In addition to its Bundesliga title, Bayern Munich reached the quarterfinals of the Champions League before it was knocked out by eventual champion Manchester City.

The venerable German club is set to open league competition Friday afternoon against Werder Bremen.
