While fans may not be in the stands when it comes to the return of sports, corporate sponsorships are already back.

Lega Serie A has created virtual supporters wearing red to match the Coca-Cola brand in conjunction with Coke's reported $5 million sponsorship of Coppa Italia. Sports Illustrated host Robin Lundberg reacted to soccer's sponsorship and the idea of computer generated fans in the stands. That in today's edition of Hot Clicks.

Sports are back! Fans are not. But that hasn’t stopped soccer from bringing them in...virtually...and of course attaching a corporate sponsor to it. Coca Cola is reportedly paying $5 million to sponsor Coppa Italia and thus Lega Serie A already put in computer generated fans in red to match the brand. And while none of those “fans” in stands can enjoy a coke, I suppose they are hoping those watching at home will. This may take some getting used to but I guess the thought is sports and a beverage go together just as well as sports with fans. Alright, let me head to the fridge.
