OSLO, Norway (AP) Sjur Roethe of Norway beat Dario Cologna of Switzerland in a photo finish after a frantic sprint in the annual 50-kilometer race at Holmenkollen for his first cross-country skiing World Cup victory.

In the last men's race of the season, Roethe stuck his ski out to just edge Cologna at the line, with both clocking a time of 1 hour, 54 minutes, 44.9 seconds.

Roethe had to wait while the judges studied replays of the finish before he was declared the winner.

Martin Johnsrud Sundby of Norway, who had already clinched the overall World Cup title, was 0.4 seconds back in third.

World champion Petter Northug of Norway tired over the last 10 kilometers and finished eight minutes back, giving Cologna second place in the overall standings.
