KHANTY-MANSIYSK, Russia (AP) Martin Fourcade of France won the final biathlon World Cup men's sprint of the season Thursday to take the discipline title for the fourth year in a row.

Fourcade hit all 10 targets as he dominated the 10-kilometer race in the Siberian city of Khanty-Mansiysk, winning in a time of 23 minutes, 47 seconds, beating Russia's Anton Shipulin by 13 seconds.

Germany's Benedikt Doll was third, 18.3 seconds off the pace.

In the sprint standings, Fourcade secured the crystal globe by 46 points from Shipulin, with Germany's Simon Schempp third.

Shipulin's second place prevented Fourcade from securing the overall World Cup title, though the Frenchman's lead increased to a near-insurmountable 117 points with two races remaining. A race win is worth 60 points.

Slovenian athlete Jakov Fak was in contention for both the overall and sprint titles before Thursday's race but his hopes were dashed as he finished 18th.
