Brian Hamilton joined Sports Illustrated in January 2014 and is a staff writer. He primarily writes about college basketball and college football, while also contributing on the NBA and the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Before joining SI, Brian worked for the Chicago Tribune for eight years. His principal duties revolved around the Notre Dame football and basketball beats, including the Irish's run to the 2013 BCS title game. He also covered a Super Bowl, The Masters, two Chicago Blackhawks championship runs, the 2010 Winter Olympics and the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Brian grew up in Westfield, N.J., and attended Northwestern University, where he graduated with a B.A. in English/Creative Writing in 1999. He interned with The Star-Ledger for a summer and wrote for the St. Paul Pioneer Press for six years before moving on to the Tribune and then SI. He lives in Chicago.
