It often feels like Michael Beasley's basketball journey has been strange enough. Somehow, things keep getting weirder.
After returning to the NBA from China on Thursday, beginning his third stint with the Miami Heat by signing a 10-day contract, Beasley told reporters about the more unusual aspects of his time with the Chinese Basketball Association's Shanghai Sharks.
Beasley said while in China he drank "snake juice" and also ate horse and lizard. Said horse tasted good, but was tricked into eating it.— Ira Winderman (@IraHeatBeat) February 26, 2015
Google turns up little in the realm of "snake juice," but reveals snake wine is apparently an alcoholic beverage made by soaking snakes—living ones—in a bottle of rice wine or grain alcohol. Horse and lizard are self-explanatory.
We imagine his face when he found out he was eating the horse was similar to his expression that time he accidentally rubbed Anthony Tolliver's knee instead of his own.
