Former Bills Star LeSean McCoy Takes Harsh Swipe at Jim Kelly

Legendary Bills quarterback Jim Kelly has always given his thoughts on the state of the team, especially now that Buffalo is a legitimate Super Bowl contender. In his most recent comments, Kelly argued that Buffalo needs to add a “star running back” to pair with Josh Allen.

When LeSean McCoy was asked about Kelly’s opinion, the former Bills running back took some shots at the Hall of Famer.

“First of all, Jim always talks, when I was there he was always talking, he just wants to talk about the team,” McCoy said on Up and Adams. “Nobody talks about how he came up short every year, every year, every year. Nobody’s talking about that.”

Kelly and McCoy have a history dating back to 2017, when Kelly publicly questioned McCoy’s decision to warm up during the National Anthem before a game. Therefore, it seems as though McCoy will take shots at Kelly when he can.

“You’re supposed to be this ‘great quarterback?’ Super Bowl: loss, loss, loss,” he continued, referencing the Bills’ four straight Super Bowl losses with Kelly as quarterback.

As for what Kelly actually said, McCoy defended Bills running back James Cook and doesn’t believe they need to do much in the running game since Allen is the focal point of the offense. However, it seemed like McCoy had more on his mind than just responding to Kelly’s opinions about the Bills 2023 running game.
